Hyaluronic acid mouthwash with probiotics

A daily mouthwash that goes beyond fresh breath. Hyaluronic acid helps keep the mouth hydrated, and probiotics support its natural balance.

Explained by the experts.

Key ingredients

What is inside, and why.

Hyaluronic acid

A water-holding molecule the body makes naturally, including in gum tissue. In the mouth it helps keep soft tissues moist, and research is exploring its role in gum comfort and healing.

Probiotics

Live, beneficial microorganisms. In oral care, specific strains are studied for their role in keeping the mouth's bacteria in balance; the effect depends on the strain.

How to use

A few seconds of your routine.

01
Step 1

Use it alongside twice-daily brushing and flossing, ideally at a different time from brushing so it does not rinse away your toothpaste's fluoride.

Step 2

Swish the amount shown on the label around your mouth for about 30 seconds, then spit it out. Do not swallow.

Step 3

Use it as often as the label directs. Not recommended for children under 6.

What the research says

Studies on these ingredients.

Plaque Inhibitory Effect of Hyaluronan-Containing Mouthwash in a 4-Day Non-Brushing Model

In 33 healthy volunteers who paused brushing for 4 days, rinsing twice a day with a hyaluronic acid mouthwash led to less plaque build-up and a smaller rise in gum inflammation than rinsing with water.

Limits: Small 4-day study in people with healthy gums; the rinse also contained xylitol, so the result cannot be credited to hyaluronic acid alone, and a medical chlorhexidine rinse controlled plaque better.

Sodium-hyaluronate mouthwash on radiotherapy-induced xerostomia: a randomised clinical trial

In 32 people with dry mouth after head and neck radiotherapy, a sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) mouthwash used three times a day for 30 days eased dry-mouth symptoms more than a placebo rinse, with no side effects reported.

Limits: Small single-centre study in one patient group, funded by the rinse's maker; a similar 2023 trial found no significant difference.

Effectiveness of probiotic mouthwash on full crown anterior teeth prosthesis plaque accumulation and gingival inflammation in 20-30-year-olds

In a one-month trial of 60 adults aged 20 to 30 with crowns on their front teeth, a probiotic mouthwash reduced gum bleeding, plaque and gum-inflammation scores more than a placebo mouthwash.

Limits: Small one-month study in a narrow group; the abstract does not name the strains, and probiotic rinses in trials are usually mixed fresh before use.

These studies looked at hyaluronic acid and probiotics as ingredients in other mouthwashes, not at LARSA's mouthwash itself.
